Thesis Topic
The prevalence and distribution of pathogens in Roosevelt elk in Northwestern California
About Me
I am a Humboldt native who enjoys coffee, finding and identifying feces, and grassroots activism, among other things. I have a cat (Lucifer), a leopard gecko (Sticky) and a fish (Smaller Fish). I earned a B.S. in biology with a minor in French from the University of Oregon, Robert C. Clark Honors College. While an undergraduate I assisted in the Cresko Laboratory studying ray-finned fish development and phylogeny. I am interested in disease ecology including transmission networks and disease risks for imperiled wildlife populations. My master’s thesis project is studying the prevalence and distribution of pathogens in Roosevelt elk in Humboldt and Del Norte counties.
