Undergraduate degree: Wildlife conservation and management. Humboldt state university (2018)

I was born and raised in the sunny southern California town of Huntington Beach and grew up exploring the San Bernadino National Forest and coastal wildlife preserves. As I got older I sought out anything related to natural history, ranging from attending CDFW education and outreach events, walking around nature preserves, and visiting every national park I could get to. While attending Humboldt State  as an undergraduate I began working with the Redwood science lab and discovered my passion for bat research and management, as well as education and outreach. This has been the primary focus of my career both during and after undergrad. Shortly after graduating I began working for the Wyoming game and fish department as the statewide bat researcher and have worked with several  different wildlife agencies in the intervening years. I hope to continue working with state and federal wildlife agencies to help protect and manage the incredibly diverse and cryptic array of bats species that call North America home.

My master’s research is focused on how Silver-Haired bats are using a recently burned over landscape in the Lassen national forest. This projects is a joint collaboration between The redwood science lab, the Lassen national forest and an engineering team from the Pacific Northwest national laboratory

Besides staying up late to research bats I am an avid hunter and backpacker who also spends a good deal of time playing DnD with my friends!
