Thesis

Examining conservation importance of slash pile management on private timberlands in northern California

About Me

Alyssa will be investigating wildlife use of slash piles with a focus on Humboldt marten, Pacific fisher, and their predators. She will be using remote trail cameras and scat collection to assess carnivore occurrence and diet in the context of slash pile use. Her research is aimed at understanding how the maintenance of slash piles may influence habitat selection and activity of mesocarnivores in a managed landscape.
