Thesis Topic

Evaluating the effect of projected climate change and altered fire regimes on
spotted owl (Strix occidentalis) habitat using a multi-scale ensemble learning and scenario modeling framework

About Me

I was born and raised in Tehran, the capital city of Iran, and as far as I remember I was interested in animals. After working in a rehabilitation center in my hometown I figured out that I love to become a conservation biologist. So I studied environmental science at the University of Tehran for my bachelor's as it was the only related major to wildlife. My background is in carnivore ecology (brown bears and free-ranging dogs mostly) and human dimensions of wildlife. As an interdisciplinary scholar, I’m trying to combine different disciplines and my research interests also revolve around human dimensions and spatial ecology of carnivores. And now I’m a wildlife graduate student at Humboldt and I’m working on spotted owl spatial ecology in general. In my free time, I enjoy bird watching, hiking, and watching movies.
